Enrichment Classes

Rising K-3rd grade students will attend two, one-hour classes.

Rising 4th-9th grade students will attend one, two-hour class.

Classes with *'s are offered more than one week throughout the summer.

Classes with a + are part of our new Extended Enrichment class offerings, and will include a full day trip on Fridays.

When filling out the sign-up form, you'll be asked to pick back-up options in case some classes don't fill.

*Mini Masters
Grade range: K-3
Kids will have an opportunity to learn about famous American artists from the 20th and 21st centuries. Using artistic elements and a variety of materials, students will then create their own artwork.

Ocean Adventures Yoga*
Grade range: K-3
In this ocean-themed yoga class, students will journey out to sea and below! Using their creativity and imagination, students will appreciate the benefits of ocean life while learning fun yoga poses. We may meet a few beloved characters along the way like Dory, Moana and maybe even a pirate! Through yoga, your child will develop strength, flexibility, self-confidence, balance, coordination, focus and discover the ability to feel calm. Ms. Brandon's playful, gentle style allows children to find a personal connection to their yoga practice.
Instructor: Ms. Brandon Hudson, RCYT, E-RYT, MAT, is a yoga teacher, children’s yoga teacher, a children’s yoga teacher trainer and a trained yoga therapist that has over 15 years' experience working with both children and adults.
Funky Funny Splish Splash
Grade range: K-3
This class will be jam-packed with fun outside games (unless raining) that keep you moving, giggling and entertained. Activities will include such things as a Nature Scavenger Hunt, Rock Painting, Pass the Water, Duck Duck Splash, Create Rockets and Volcanos and Water Balloon Toss. Come on and have some fun.

*Can You Kick It?
Grade range: K-3
Kids will learn the skills and fundamentals of soccer while having some fun along the way!

*Gymnastics
Grade range: K-3
Tumble, roll, spin, jump and dance! In this class, we crank up the music and set up stations like trampoline, basic tumbling, low beams, rings, balance boards and strength training.

*Summer S.T.E.M. Academy
Grade range: 4-9
Researching, hypothesizing, solving, designing, measuring, building, experimenting: using your Science, Technology, Engineering and Math brain to create the next best invention! Join Team S.T.E.M. to use your creativity in a collaborative way to make something magnificent!

*Music Ensemble
Grade range: 4-9
Bring what you play or experience new (but very basic) instruments for ensemble playing. All levels welcome. Music will be selected and customized for the group. The week will culminate with a performance.

*+Wilderness Skills
Grade range: 4-9
Want to learn how to be ready for any and every expedition? This club will teach you how to build a primitive shelter, cook over a fire, choose a good campsite and set up a tarp with a variety of knots. You will learn what to pack, how to pack and some basic first aid skills. Because this is an extended enrichment, we’ll finish the week by bringing our skills together on a trip to Warren Wilson.
This class has a $25 extended enrichment fee.

*+Breakout Adventures
Grade range: 4-9
Saving the world from a zombie virus by unlocking the antidote! Lost in time, navigating your way back to modern day! In Breakout Adventures, students work collaboratively to solve a series of critical thinking puzzles to open a virtual "lock box" before time runs out! Students will have the chance to solve several virtual Breakout Box challenges throughout the week.
On Friday, the class will travel to a local breakout room! There is a $15 materials fee for this class.
