Evergreen Summer Adventures
Welcome to Evergreen Summer Adventures! We are excited to welcome new and returning students to campus for another of summer of discovery and fun. Summer Adventures is a day camp open to the public; all children in rising Kindergarten – rising 9th grade are welcome! We offer campers a unique combination of enrichment activities in the morning that are balanced with more traditional summer camp action in the afternoon.
COVID-19 Update - April 20, 2020
This week we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s summer’s camp at Evergreen.
We know that school is still technically slated to open back up on May 18th, and that cancelling camp now might seem counter to that fact. However, the growing sentiment of the medical community that social distancing will need to continue well into the summer and beyond, and the knowledge that our camp brings people together from many school communities beyond Evergreen, has us feeling that even if we forged ahead with camp plans now, there is still a very realistic probability that we would end up needing to cancel later and on shorter notice. That would be problematic not just for you but for staff as well.
Even if summer camps end up being allowed to operate, the chances of our camp being able to operate with all of our staff and space available seems very low. We also are aware that with the economy all-but halted, many of you may not need or be able to afford camp. What's camp without the campers?
We are heartbroken to have to cancel Evergreen Summer Adventures. Not only because of the fun experiences we all will be missing out on, but unfortunately also for the negative impact this will have on the budget of the camp. If you are in a position to do so, we ask that you might consider donating some or all of your fees back to Evergreen Summer Adventures to help us sustain our programming for future summers. You can do this through MyPaymentsPlus, just like when you paid the registration fee. (Conversely, if you already did donate hoping to contribute to this summer's camp, and would like that donation returned to you, we understand--all you have to do is ask!).
This week we will be working to refund all registration and weekly fees that have already been paid. It may take until the end of the week or early next week for all of those refunds to clear. If you haven't received an expected refund by May 1st, please let us know.
Should alternative summer camp or child care operations become possible at Evergreen this summer, you will be the first to know! Until then, keep staying safe and staying home!
